Need for speed Most Wanted user data file save game files location

This post tells you about how to backup user data file ("alias" term is used in NFS game) on Need for Speed Most Wanted (2005) version 1.3 Black label edition. This method may also work for other version of this game (1.0, 1.1, 1.2). The advantage of taking backup is when you format the computer & reinstall the operating system, all the data is lost. If you have taken the backup of your alias data file, then u can easily restore the progress of your game by copying back your data file to the location i will be discussing later in this post.

Need for Speed Most Wanted (2005) is the best game in NFS franchise. It is available for both Windows and Mac OS X. The location of data file is different in the above mentioned operating systems.

Windows

My Documents >> NFS Most Wanted >>
Inside NFS most wanted folder you will see a folder named with the alias you use in NFS game
Backup this folder by creating a copy of it on a different storage location other than your computer i.e. any cloud storage or pendrive or even trusty old email.


Mac OS X

Macintosh HD >> users >> ""username"" >> Library >> Preferences >> Cider X3 Preferences >> p_drive >>My Documents >> NFS most wanted

In my case username was nikhil (without quotes)

Inside NFS most wanted folder you will see a folder named with the alias you use in NFS game
Backup this folder by creating a copy of it on a different storage location other than your computer.
